Computer forensics is considered
to be the use of analytical and investigative techniques to identify, collect, examine and preserve evidence/information which
is magnetically stored or encoded, with the objective of providing digital evidence of a specific or general activity.
Forensic
investigations are initiated for a variety of reasons. The most common scenarios include: Employee internet abuse, Unauthorized
disclosure of corporate information and data (accidental and intentional), Industrial espionage, Criminal fraud and deception
cases. Forensic computing investigation is approached with a view to creating and producing a detailed report on user activity.
We
at J C Associates, use specialist forensic software as a means of securing and protecting corporate networks. With current
employment legislation it is the responsibility of the C.E.O. of a corporate body to ensure that their computer networks are
not contaminated with offensive and/or potentially illegal material.
